Pallet racking support bars are a simple yet potentially critical component within pallet racking, designed to enhance the safety, stability and functionality of the entire system.
What exactly are pallet support bars? How do they work? And when should you add them to your pallet racking system? Read on to find out the answers to all those questions and more.

Pallet rack support bars are placed between pallet racking beams to directly support pallets and other loads.

Made of high grade steel, and fixing to the beams with a simple bracket, they are designed to prevent pallets from sagging, breaking and potentially falling through the racking. They are most often used in open-beam setups or in warehouses that deal with non-standard pallet sizes.

Pallet support bars are compatible with most Storepro racking systems, and can seriously enhance the safety and functionality of your warehouse storage solution.

• Storing weak or damaged pallets: The extra support allows you to safely store old, tired or broken pallets that would otherwise be at risk of breaking and falling through the racking.
• Storing undersized pallets: Smaller pallets won’t span the width of a standard pallet rack. By placing support bars between the beams, you can store half display pallets and other non-traditional sizes in standard pallet racking.
• Warehouses seeking extra safety: While every business must be safety conscious, support bars can add an extra layer of racking strength and safety on top of that which is outlined in regulatory responsibilities. Extra support is often required in industries that deal in heavy loads, such as bulk goods, 3PL and cold storage.

• As an alternative to mesh decking: While mesh decking has its benefits , particularly in terms of storing smaller items, pallet support bars can:

• • Be more cost-effective

• • Offer greater racking visibility, accessibility and airflow

• • Be easier to install and reposition

• • Offer less impact around around of fire safety

Standard and custom options available

Standard pallet rack support bars are built to handle the New Zealand standard racking depth of 900mm and a 1200mm x 1000mm pallet size.

• Australian wooden pallets (1165mm x 1165mm)
• Half display pallets (800mm x 600mm)
